The Pro-Form 495 PI is a foldable home treadmill that was manufactured for Sears by Icon Health and Fitness in 2006. Pro-Form recommends creating the 495 PI treadmill on a flat surface with at least 8 feet of free space behind the machine and 2 feet of free space on each side. Adjust the speed in 0.1 mph increments by pressing the up or down arrow speed keys on the console. If you hold down an arrow key, the speed will adjust faster in 0.5 mph increments. The Pro-Form 495 PI has an electronic console with a small digital display, which offers a number of comments during your training. At the top right of the screen is an oval, which visually represents a quarter mile track. When walking or running, the segments light up to visually indicate their progress. The display also shows elapsed time, distance, current speed, incline and approximate calories burned. To measure your heart rate, grab the silver sensors in the hand grips in front of the console. After 10 to 15 seconds, your heart rate will be displayed. Do not keep sensors for the entire duration of your workout. Run or walk naturally with arms at your sides. Pro-Form recommends standing on the foot rails when checking your heart rate.

You should perform basic maintenance on your machine so that it continues to run smoothly. If the belt slows, slips or is out of the center, tighten the rear roller bolts on the back of the walking platform.
